So chants at former President Trump’s rally in Georgia called for Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to be thrown in prison is something I can say I endorse. He belongs in prison after all he’s guilty of treason, and helped to over throw a sitting President by breaking our laws.
The rally was held in Perry, Georgia, where the raucous crowd chanted, “Lock Him Up!” The chant started up after Trump mentioned Zuckerberg reportedly dumped $45 million to fund election-related activities. To Americans who are paying attention, a billionaire like Zuckerberg dumping millions into a crucial election looks like election interference and as we know this is treason when it helps to over throw a PRESIDENT.
Democrats have spent so long spreading fear and loathing about Russian interference in our elections that Americans have forgotten about the greatest threat to our elections. Billionaires like Zuckerberg wield incredible power to sway elections with their untold wealth. Billionaires can do far more than any Russian hacker could ever dream of achieving.
Georgians seem to be waking up to the fact that the greatest threat to our elections comes from within, not from abroad. It is high time that Congress inquire about the details of Zuckerberg’s spending to sway the election in Georgia.
Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan who’s parents were Chinese immigrants and the communist behavior of Mark considering who he’s married too shouldn’t shock anyone. Reportedly they gave $350 million to the Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL), which distributed the grants to 48 states and Washington, D.C. for election administration ahead of the November 2020 election.
For the November 2020 general election, $31 million went to Georgia, “where Joe Biden narrowly “won” the state’s 16 electoral votes, beating then-President Trump by fewer than 12,000 votes,” Fox News reports. We wonder how many of those came in without signature verification, from people who were dead, and or from votes that had people from other states illegally voting there somehow thanks to the Drop BOXES, universal mail in votes, and yes maybe even the Machines which were used to create the big steal?
The report added that “the center also gave $14.5 million to Georgia counties for the state’s two January runoff elections, where Democrats won both to flip the U.S. Senate majority to Democrats.” And so you see folks this is why there needs to be a major investigation of Fakebooks CEO, and his involvement in “The BIG STEAL.”
“Well, they should be looking at that. What is that all about?” Trump said at his rally on Saturday. “Over 90 percent of this funding, they say, for the November election was given to Democrat areas of the state, and used to boost Democrat voter turnout. What’s that all about?”
“You know they have a limit of like $5,200, [and] he’s given millions and millions of dollars to different states, not only Georgia,” the former president added and he’s 100% right. Zuckerberg needs to go to prison. By the way an estimated 20,000 people attended Saturday’s Trump rally in central Houston County, Georgia. But it’s not just Mark Zuckerberg who belongs in prison Twitters Jack Dorsey also belongs in prison as he’s been using Twitter to lie to the American people and shutting down not just the Trump Georgia account but he’s had other conservative accounts deleted. We know because it’s happened to us!
So a recently filed lawsuit against Facebook reveals new details about the Cambridge Analytics data breach scandal, claiming among other allegations that company executives massively overpaid the Federal Trade Commission to shield CEO Mark Zuckerberg from any personal liability. In the lawsuit that was filed in a Delaware state court by the Employees’ Retirement System of Rhode Island (ERSRI), following a battle over whether troves of internal Facebook communications should be publicly disclosed. The pension fund won that case in February, and used those records to file its latest lawsuit in August.ERSRI, an investor in Facebook, claims that the $5 billion settlement harmed the social media company thereby breaching its fiduciary duty to the pension fund.
According to the 200-plus page claim, Zuckerberg, Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg, and other Facebook directors agreed to authorize a multibillion-dollar settlement with the FTC as an “express quid pro quo to protect Zuckerberg from being named in the FTC’s complaint, made subject to personal liability, or even required to sit for a deposition.”
The lawsuit suggests that Facebook overpaid the FTC by some $4.9 billion, since the commission’s previous record fine was $168 million and is seeking a declaration that the Facebook executives’ actions were improper, as well as awards for damages. ERSRI may have a difficult time proving harm in this case, as Facebook’s stock has risen from about $198 when the FTC issued its enforcement action in July, to nearly $350 per share today.
The lawsuit doesn’t suggest impropriety by the FTC, whose budget doesn’t benefit from the $5 billion since that money goes to the Treasury Department. But the lawsuit does allege wrongdoing by other parties, including billionaire Facebook investor Peter Thiel and his data analytics firm Palantir. Thus naming them as defendants in the case along with Zuckerberg and other Facebook board members.
ERSRI’s lawsuit corroborates earlier reports that Thiel a Trump donor used his analytics firm to help facilitate the privacy violations committed by Facebook and Cambridge. This is part of why Facebook wants to silence Trump and anyone who associates with him or voted for him. They’re trying to get revenge in a sense on Trump, and his people.
“Palantir employees, including at least one of Palantir’s lead data scientists, regularly worked in person, during normal business hours, at the offices of Cambridge Analytica in London,” the lawsuit says. “It was a Palantir employee, Alfredas Chmieliauskas, who first suggested that Cambridge Analytica create its own app specifically, a mobile-based personality quiz to gain access to Facebook users’ friend networks.”
According to the lawsuit, Palantir and Thiel benefited from Trump and the Republicans winning, with the analytics firm becoming “one of the largest recipients of government defense contracts with the United States government since Trump took office.”
Though the lawsuit was filed in August, it has only recently been widely publicized, and according to Digital Content Next CEO Jason Kint, the suit wasn’t initially noticed due to exorbitant fees the Delaware court registry charges for court records.“As to how this suit wasn’t noticed, Delaware Chancery charges a fortune per document limiting public awareness,” Kint said Sept. 21 on Twitter. “Original case to inspect board docs (Rhode Island) was won, derivative suits were amended/filed/consolidated in shell game. I followed the breadcrumbs.”
The now-defunct company Cambridge Analytica used an app called “This Is Your Digital Life” to scrape the data of millions of users, and then allegedly used that data to target people with pro-Republican ads ahead of the 2016 elections. It was never found that Cambridge Analytica affected the results of the 2016 election. Publications such as the National Review which came out in opposition to Donald Trumpdescribed it as a “nothing burger.”
However, the scandal did reveal the startling extent to which Facebook and its app developers have access to intimate details about its users, including demographics, internet activity, consumer behavior, and political beliefs thousands of data points on each user, according to numerous sources. The total, Cambridge Analytica collected data on some 70 million people 30 million Americans including those who never used Cambridge Analytica’s “This Is Your Digital Life” app.Facebook still faces lawsuits and regulatory actions over the scandal worldwide, including places such as the Netherlands.
The company also faces an antitrust case brought by the FTC, driven in part by the political backlash from the scandal… So far Facebook and the FTC declined to comment; Palantir didn’t immediately respond to a request for a comment.
Dozens of heads of states are expected to descend upon the UN headquarters in New York for the annual General Assembly. The high-level General Debate starts on September 21 and lasts until September 27. Although the event was held almost entirely virtually last year because of the pandemic, many leaders will deliver in-person speeches at this year’s summit, including US President Joe Biden, who will make his first address to the 193-member world body since he took office.
Hell can’t wait for the videos this is going to spin off by people on the internet but this man lives in a world of lies, and I love how he actually thinks anyone takes him seriously. He’s a moron, and every time he speaks it becomes clear that he’s not fit for office. Time to retire JOE.
San Francisco Mayor London Breed on being caught in a bar violating her own mask mandate… One again another liberal that is more about do as we say and not as we do. Because the rules for the elites are the same as for me and you… Now folks I kid you not this is a serious person here? This is a mayor? Well no wonder the city of San Fran has more needles then people in it on the streets.
“I started dancing because I was feeling the spirit & I wasn’t thinking about a mask. I was thinking about having a good time.” so just remember folks new excuse when you don’t want to wear one of these mandated masks just say you felt the spirit like Mayor London Breed! Hey if this works maybe it could be a new pass from masks wearing?
In a room full of maskless people, the mayor moved her hips, swung her arms and appeared to sing along at the top of her lungs as the R&B group Tony! Toni! Toné! performed their 1996 hit “Let’s Get Down.”
“Elected officials have a greater responsibility to model the behavior that’s necessary to control the pandemic,” John Swartzberg, an infectious-disease expert at the University of California at Berkeley, told the Chronicle. “Any time the elected officials behave like this, it undermines public confidence in them and that translates to people saying, ‘Well, if the mayor can do this, I can.’ ”
She also implied that adhering to the city’s mask mandate might not be necessary. “Make sure you are vaccinated because of the requirements, but don’t feel as though you have to be micromanaged about mask-wearing,” the mayor told reporters. “Like, we don’t need the fun police to come in and try and micromanage and tell us what we should or shouldn’t be doing.”
As the city’s mask and vaccine mandates remain in effect, San Francisco’s coronavirus cases remain relatively low, with an average of just over 100 new cases per day. About 73 percent of the city’s population is fully vaccinated.
San Francisco was among the first major cities to shut down in March 2020, and Breed has reaped praise for imposing strict measures to mitigate the virus’s spread. Throughout much of the pandemic, she continually told residents to wear their masks.
Several Democratic politicians have been blasted for skirting the very restrictions they suggest citizens follow. In August, D.C. Mayor Muriel E. Bowser was criticized for officiating a wedding soon after a mask mandate was reinstated. Hundreds of unmasked guests, including Bowser, reportedly dined indoors. And in November, less than an hour after Denver Mayor Michael Hancock pleaded with residents not to see each other for Thanksgiving, he boarded a plane to visit his wife and daughter for the holiday.
Breed also found herself on the defensive after the news broke in December that she had dined several weeks earlier at the French Laundry, an opulent restaurant in California’s wine country. Although she did not flout government orders, the high-end dinner came as restaurants in her own city prohibited indoor dining.
Explaining that she was proud San Francisco nightlife is returning to normal, Breed told reporters on Friday the focus should have been on the performance of Tony! Toni! Toné! not her own maskless dancing.
“I’m not going to sip and put my mask on, sip and put my mask on, sip and put my mask on,” Breed said. “While I’m eating and I’m drinking, I’m going to keep my mask off.”
The mayor called the whole controversy overblown… Had this been someone like Marjorie Taylor Greene or Candace Owens you think the media would not be all over this? You don’t think the left would be blasting them?
“No. I’m not going to sip and put my mask on, sip and put my mask up, eat and put my mask on,” said Breed. “While I’m eating and drinking, I’m gonna keep my mask off.” This isn’t the first time Mayor Breed has been slammed for her actions during the pandemic.
Last November, she was criticized for gathering with people from outside her household for a dinner at the French Laundry during a fall COVID surge. While she wasn’t violating health protocols, she seemed to defy warnings she had issued the week before about gathering with big groups.
“Trump Corporation personnel, including Weisselberg, arranged for tuition expenses for Weisselberg’s family members to be paid by personal checks drawn on the account of and signed by Donald J. Trump, and later drawn on the account of the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust,” prosecutors alleged in the indictment.
Trump’s lawyer Ronald Fischetti told Insider the mention had no bearing on the former president’s personal legal exposure in the district attorney’s investigation. He said Trump paid the tuition bills personally, rather than through corporate accounts, and took “no deductions” on them.
“All that money paid for [Weisselberg’s] grandson’s tuition to the same school that Donald Trump’s son Barron goes to was paid by Donald Trump personally, never from the company,” Fischetti said. “No checks ever went from the company to pay for that tuition.”
Fischetti said Trump made the tuition payments because Weisselberg’s son, Barry, was undergoing an acrimonious split from his wife, Jennifer Weisselberg. Trump wanted to make sure the grandchildren of a “trusted employee” could remain at their school, Fischetti said. “Donald Trump, out of his generosity, paid for it personally,” Fischetti said. “No deductions, no nothing.” Weisselberg and attorneys for the Trump Organization pleaded not guilty to a 15-count indictment, where prosecutors described a wide-ranging tax scheme in which they accused Weisselberg of dodging taxes on $1.7 million of his income, much of which they said came in the form of perks like tuition payments, apartments, and cars.
Prosecutors said more than $359,000 of that untaxed compensation came in the form of tuition payments from 2012 to 2017. They alleged the tuition payments were categorized as compensation in the Trump Organization’s internal records but not on Weisselberg’s personal tax forms. Fischetti said that Trump paying the tuition out of his own pocket, rather than corporate coffers, indicated Trump had already paid all the appropriate taxes on his end.
“It’s not taxable for that person,” Fischetti said. “And it’s not a deduction for the person who’s giving it to them.”
Fischetti told Insider he didn’t expect Trump to be among the indicted. He said the tax savings prosecutors describe would amount to “pennies” for the former president. “This guy’s a billionaire. What’s he going to get out of this?” he said, adding: “It’s fucking pennies! It’s ridiculous. They have nothing on the president. Absolutely nothing.“
Fischetti said he met with prosecutors in June and they’d brought no evidence that Trump had any personal knowledge of or involvement in the alleged tax scheme.
“They have said nothing about the president knowing about this,” Fischetti said. “They have no tape recordings, they have no email, they have no text. They have no documents. They have nothing!”
Attorneys for other witnesses who’ve testified before the grand jury said none of the clients had anything to say about Trump’s personal involvement, according to Fischetti. He said prosecutors’ only hope of indicting Trump would be to “coerce” people to tell the grand jury they acted at Trump’s direction.
“The only thing they could possibly have are witnesses that would go into the grand jury and say, ‘Yes, I got a free car and I got a free apartment, and he deducted it from my salary or would give it to me as a bonus so the company made money,'” Fischetti told Insider. “He needs witnesses! He has none! Zero!”
A representative for the Manhattan district attorney’s office declined to comment for this story and why is that? Probably because once again they have spent our tax paid money investigating TRUMP and they get nothing. So they’re now trying to some how claim he committed a crime because he helped pay for his employees kids tuition?
Prosecutors also were said to have been investigating whether the Trump Organization broke tax laws by keeping two sets of books to secure favorable tax, insurance, and loan rates, as well as whether the company broke campaign finance laws by facilitating hush-money payments to Stormy Daniels in advance of the 2016 election. They found nothing so this is what they’re trying to turn into a big deal? Seriously? This is how low the bar is being set by the left? Well how about let’s talk about Hunter Biden and his Russian stolen laptops? We know that happened Hunter is on video talking to a prostitute in mid crack hit about it. The hypocrisy from the left is on full display once again.
Friends it’s no joke and to be honest not shocking that Nasty Nancy Pelosi is guilty of Treason… You read this correct, and anyone with a logical working mind can see this as fact. It is my opinion that she deserves prison time, and I’d say the rest of her life, and not allowed to get away with the multitude of the crimes she had committed over the last 3 to 4 decades. She is a very dirty swamp creature who has been bullying her way into hundreds of Millions of dollars for years now following in her long line of mafioso family background. She’s done enough damage to the American tax payers to merit being waterboarded in GITMO!
She belongs in the west coast like San Fransisco since she is the living embodiment of the wicket witch of the west… Her fake impeachments of Trump, and 4 years of her lunatic behavior doing everything she can to undermine, disturb, and destroy his administration is now all becoming clearer, and clearer as it’s become now public knowledge that she is guilty of helping Gen. Milley Vanilli’s Undercutting of Trump’s Military Authority.”
Conservative commentator Mark Levin is calling out House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for her alleged “key role” in Gen. Mark Milley’s undercutting of Donald Trump’s military authority.
During a segment on Fox News, Levin spoke about the explosive new book that alleges that Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, held secret meetings behind then-President Trump’s back and privately told leaders not to take military strike or nuclear orders from Trump days after the Jan. 6 incident at the U.S. Capitol.
Levin argued that Democrats are going to keep supporting Milley because they don’t want any backlash for Pelosi. Levin said Pelosi played “a key role in” undermining civilian control of the military under Trump via a call she made to Milley in the days after the Capitol incursion. Pelosi had announced the conversation shortly after it happened on Jan. 8, saying in a letter to House Democrats she’d discussed “precautions for preventing an unstable president from initiating military hostilities or accessing the launch codes and ordering a nuclear strike.” “What I’m saying to you is that if they couldn’t even stop him from an assault on the Capitol, who even knows what else he may do?” Pelosi said during the call, according to the book. “And is there anybody in charge at the White House who was doing anything but kissing his fat butt all over this?
“You know he’s crazy. He’s been crazy for a long time,” she added. Milley reportedly responded, “Madam Speaker, I agree with you on everything.” That’s why, Levin said, “the Democrat Party will do everything they can to run interference for Milley” when the Joint Chiefs head appears on Capitol Hill on Sept. 28. “They’re running interference for Milley because they’re running interference for Nancy Pelosi. Nancy Pelosi has a key role in this,” he continued.
“There’s a telephone conversation between Nancy Pelosi and General Milley in which she — who is absolutely nuts — accuses the president of the time, Trump, of being crazy, talks about nuclear weapons, and Milley says he agrees with her completely. He goes back to the Pentagon, he calls in his subordinates and they talk about ‘what is our process?’ and ‘let’s go over it’ for using nuclear weapons,” Levin continued. “President Trump never hinted ever about using nuclear weapons, there’s no basis for this whatsoever. I might add, in a footnote, I don’t know who’s more loathsome, Milley, who is loathsome, or Woodward and Costa,” he continued.
“They sat on it for months and months when the American people should have known, when Congress should have known, and, of course, the people in the military should have known that we have a rogue general,” Levin added.
Two days after the January 6 incident at the Capitol Gen. Milley took an extraordinary step. He took secret action to talk to military leaders and told them not to take military strikes or nuclear orders from Trump. Milley was “was certain that Trump had gone into a serious mental decline in the aftermath of the election, with Trump now all but manic, screaming at officials and constructing his own alternate reality about endless election conspiracies,” Bob Woodward and Washington Post reporter Robert Costa said in the book “Peril.”
While speaking to reporters from the White House on Wednesday, Press Secretary Chucky.. I mean Jen Psaki was asked about the explosive new book that alleges that General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, held secret meetings behind Donald Trump’s back and even secretly told leaders not to take military strike or nuclear orders from Trump days after the Jan. 6 incident at the U.S. Capitol. A good question and if true that well is TREASON! So he would need to be court marshaled.
Psaki babbled on that Biden “has complete confidence” in Milley and made it clear that the president does not believe he should step down. Once again this is how the D.C. swamp continues to protect its own. Now picture if the roles were reversed?
Below is a transcript of the exchange:
REPORTER: “A new book reports that near the end of the Trump presidency, Chairman Milley had two conversations with his Chinese counterpart, promising the countries would go to war and that he would give an early warning if something were to happen. In a statement just minutes ago, Chairman Milley did not dispute this account. On this, does the President feel these calls were appropriate? Does he have confidence in the Chairman? And some Republican senators have called for Chairman Milley to be dismissed. Is he going to keep his job?”
PSAKI: “Well, I saw the statement, of course, that the Department of Defense — or I should say the Joint Chiefs spokesperson just released minutes ago. I’m not going to add more, speak to anonymous, unconfirmed reports about conversations with limited context from here, but what I can assure you all of is that the President knows General Milley, he has been Chairman of the Joint Chiefs for almost eight months of his presidency, they worked side by side through a range of international events, and the President has complete confidence in his leadership, his patriotism and his fidelity to our Constitution.
Since you gave me the opportunity, I just wanted to add, I think it’s important to consider some of the context, key context of this period in time of time in history that we’re discussing and is outlined or covered in portions of this book. The outgoing president of the United States during this period of time fomented unrest, leading to an insurrection and an attack on our nation’s capital on January 6, which we have all you all have covered extensively, of course, one of the darkest days in our nation’s history.
Beyond reports in this book, there’s been widespread reporting and commentary from members of his own cabinet, the former president’s cabinet, I should say, including high-ranking national security officials, questioning the former president’s stability, his behavior and his suitability to oversee The National security of the United States. So, those are important questions that need to be discussed as well.”
REPORTER: “I just want to follow up on this. Does the President believe that Gen. Milley should testify before Congress about his actions during that time?”
PSAKI: “Look, I think we the President has been clear with his administration and members of his cabinet, national security team, that we’ll continue to work with Congress and cooperate with them as appropriate in meeting their needs. We’ve done that from the beginning of the administration. I would defer to the Department of Defense and the Joint Chiefs for further decisions.”
So the moron known as AOC was a place full of her like minded people… Yes RICH people! Who like her are into fashion so the lowlife who spent more on her car then her abuelas house when her roof caved in, and later blamed TRUMP for her abuelas problems! Well the cry baby of congress was at The Met Gala wearing a dress with a message: “Tax the Rich.” Which is both idiotic in statement but also showing of how stupid she is.
AOC was joined at the $35,000 per person fundraiser by other New York Democrats as well as Rihanna, Lil Nas X and Iman.
The cost for a seat at last night’s Met Gala started at $35,000, and tables went for $200,000 to $300,000. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) walked into the room full of celebrities and rich people (often one and the same) with a message: A white gown with blood red letters on the back reading, “TAX THE RICH.” Speaking with The Post as she walked up the event’s beige carpet, Ocasio-Cortez said she was anticipating some blowback for attending a gala seen as elitist, and in the middle of a pandemic with no mask on, and not social distancing.
“I mean, I think I’m kind of at the point where no matter what I do, if I wake up in the morning, there’s going to be someone who has something to say about that,” she said as Megan Fox and Diane Kruger crossed the carpet behind her.
Well AOC it’s because you do crap like this! You someone who comes from a wealthy family, went to an expensive school and are backed by the group “Socialist Democrats” and oh yeah you lie and cry about dumb crap all the time! But formally known as the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute benefit, the black-tie extravaganza ranks as one of the most photographed events of the year, an equivalent of the Oscars, but with many more fascinating fashion risks. (Kim Kardashian, for example, wore a head-to-toe black Balenciaga haute couture outfit that rendered her ghostly and faceless, drawing comparisons to a bank robber wearing a pantyhose to disguise their face or a Dementor from Harry Potter.) All the pomp has a noble purpose: The night is a fundraiser for the museum’s Costume Institute, which is putting on an exhibition on American fashion. The 2021 gala raised a record-breaking $16.75 million and is the primary source for the institute’s annual budget.
Instagram which is her favorite mind numbing indoctrination chamber she uses to screw with the minds of your kids with her idiotic videos as she does NOTHING while in congress… So while they who are owned by FaceBook Mark Zuckerberg by the way sponsored the gala and plenty of billionaires were in attendance, including Blackstone Group CEO Stephen Schwarzman and Joe Gebbia, co-founder of Airbnb. Invited celebrities, including celebrity congresswomen like Ocasio-Cortez, are part of the draw and attend for free.
I think someone should tell AOC that Mark Zuckerberg spent near half a Billion bucks to help rig the 2020 election but I’m sure she knew what she was heading off to attend, and she knows all about Mark Zuckerberg. But she doesn’t care and really also should tell her that the Richer you are the more in taxes you get to pay. This is how economics work! This is like she thinks the Rich don’t pay taxes? LMAO IDIOTIC! But AOC and Mayor Bill de Blasio were on that same carpet, too, and barely raised an eyebrow. Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney (D-N.Y.) wore a gown adorned with the purple, white and gold colors of the suffrage movement and a sash that read “Equal Rights for Women.” Her bag read, “ERA YES,” referring to the proposed Equal Rights Amendment that would amend the U.S. Constitution to eliminate discrimination on the basis of sex.
But none have received the conservative backlash heaped on Ocasio-Cortez. One Twitter user pointed out that she needed help getting down the steps, as did most women in their gigantic gowns, as if she were royalty. Another joked that she was now selling “Tax the Rich” caviar for $10,000 a can. Someone else replaced “Tax the Rich” with “Let Them Eat Cake” in a photograph. “BACKLASH: AOC Under Fire for Wearing ‘Tax the Rich’ Gown to NYC’s Ultra-Elite Met Gala,” Sean Hannity wrote on his blog.
There was one unlikely defender, though. “Not an @aoc hater. But come on, going to an event for super-rich with ‘tax the rich’ written on your ass, won’t change a thing,” political commentator Ana Navarro-Cárdenas said on Twitter. “It’s a stunt to justify her presence at an fancy shin-dig that doesn’t match her political persona. She still looks better that Kim K in the bat outfit.”
Ocasio-Cortez, 31, has been a conservative lightning rod ever since she was elected as the youngest congresswoman in history in 2018, and is seen as representing a liberal faction of the Democratic Party that is often at odds with moderate members and sometimes even President Biden. She’s been one of the most outspoken members in Congress advocating for reforming the tax code and taxing the ultrawealthy to pay for social services such as child care and health care. When Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) slept on the steps of the Capitol to protest the end to the pandemic-related eviction moratorium, Ocasio-Cortez was one of the first of Bush’s colleagues to join her.
On Wednesday, she retweeted Biden, who’d written, “It’s time the super-wealthy and big corporations pay their fair share in taxes.”
Accompanying Ocasio-Cortez was the dress’s Black, Ghanaian Canadian designer, Aurora James, founder and creative director of Brother Veilles, a luxury accessories brand centered on keeping traditional African design techniques alive, as well as founder of the 15 Percent Pledge, a nonprofit that boosts Black brands. Like the congresswoman, she wore suffrage white. Vogue’s editor, Anna Wintour, often pairs such guests with designers who custom-design what they wear as a courtesy.
“I feel like if the congresswoman was going to come to the Met, she might as well come with a message,” said James, who pointed out that Ocasio-Cortez’s dress was the product of a lot of hard work by many people in New York’s Garment District .
Ocasio-Cortez was still a bartender when she first heard of James, she said on the carpet Monday evening. “And I remember being totally blown away at the time, working from behind the bar saying, ‘Oh, my God, it’s possible and she did it,” referring to James winning a prestigious CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award in 2015. She’d been inspired, Ocasio-Cortez said, by how James “started out just a couple of years ago with three grand in her pocket,” selling her clothes at the Brooklyn Flea market, and was now at the Met Gala. “That’s really the story of our city,” she said. “It’s the story of we should be centered, especially as a Black woman immigrant designer in an industry where that is severely underrepresented.”
After the gala — which included a menu of plant-based dishes from 10 rising New York chefs and featured a performance by Justin Bieber — Ocasio-Cortez appeared to be trying to head off some criticism before it started.
“And before haters get wild flying off the handle,” she tweeted, “New York elected officials are routinely invited to and attend the Met due to our responsibilities in overseeing and supporting the city’s cultural institutions for the public. I was one of several in attendance in this evening.” It ended with a hugging face emoji.
She’d thought about the criticism she’d get for going, Ocasio-Cortez wrote, “but honestly I and my body have been so heavily and relentlessly policed from all corners politically since the moment I won my election that it’s kind of become expected and normalized to me.”
If she’d been afraid of the criticism and not worn the dress, she wrote, she might have been called “inauthentic” or “too calculated.”
“But we all had a conversation about Taxing the Rich in front of the very people who lobby against it, and punctured the 4th wall of excess and spectacle,” she continued in the statement.
She was there in her capacity as a public official trying to support a public arts institution, she concluded. Then she encouraged everyone to go to the Met to see the exhibit, adding that New York City residents can even pay what they wish.
Trump gets love in NY while Biden is the laughingstock of the subway series, and with the kids! So remember when the now known sexual harasser brother of Fredo from CNN “Andrew Cuomo” once said Trump would need “AN ARMY” to walk down the NY Streets?
Well Andrew looks like he’s got his ARMY! The people of NY! Folks hope you had a good weekend, and hope you spent time reflecting on everything we had, and lost during 911, and how as a country we managed to fight our way into an America First front and went at the known enemies. Now 20 years later thanks to Joe Biden “The Taliban” are more powerful, better equipped, and richer then they were pre 911. We all seen the debacle of his withdrawal from the country.
But in a day of mourning Joe Biden used it as a day of photo ops before he goes back into his vacation of the month, and goes into his basement. But let’s laugh a little check out these fine pictures from this weekend, and we see a real President compared to well JOE BIDEN. Whatever the hell he is.
Well @JoeBiden@POTUS said he was going to bring the country together right? Don’t think this was what he had in mind. What’s left of it. Now the Mets & Yankees fans don’t like each other for clear reasons. But they’ve come together in unity against one common evil. #BidenMustGopic.twitter.com/4vRangChLt
This is just hilarious as Republican Lawmaker Mocks Stacey Abrams’ Claims About Voting Laws. This bitch and the gap between her teeth is a giant joke! Stacey Abrams and her Judge sister are both morons, and sold out to the left. Cannot believe there are anyone who actually take these people serious.
In House floor remarks on Tuesday against Democrats’ voting rights bill, Rep. Dan Bishop (R-NC) mocked Stacey Abrams’ past claim that GOP-led voting reform laws are “Jim Crow 2.0.” Remember they say that vaccine id’s are ‘necessary’ but voter id is ‘racist’… Now i think this man has a point about abuse and entrenchment, and we know the swamp is deep, and again the “GAP” aka “Stacey Abrams” is a swamp creature, and she belongs in GITMO with her judge sister, and the rest of the SWAP members in Congress, and the Senate which are Democrats, and RINOS! The GAP here refused to concede her loss in GA but liked to trash Trump for asking for there to check into the Voter fraud which is clear that took place in GA during the 2020 elections. Shameful people but are you shocked? I’m not…
